Symptom
I am trying to install an application from the application archive, but I get the error message "The mysql extension could not be found".
Cause
The application uses the PHP mysql extension. This PHP extension is only available up to PHP version 5.6. The mysql extension has been removed from PHP 7 and newer PHP versions. Only mysqli is available there.
Solution
Either downgrade the PHP version of your website to PHP 5.6 or older with the PHP icon of the webspace control panel (menu “Websites & Domains”) or try to obtain a newer version from the manufacturer of the application, which supports PHP 7 and newer.
