Symptom

You want to create e-mail addresses and mailboxes for a subdomain, but the e-mail configuration does not offer the subdomain for selection.

Cause

The subdomain was created using the "Add Subdomain" button. It is generated as a real subdomain, which provides a separate website in the web server, but otherwise does not take over domain functions.

Solution

1) Remove the subdomain with the "Remove" icon on the "Websites & Domains" tab of the subdomain.

2) Add the subdomain again, but not with the "Add Subdomain" button, but with the "Add Domain" button. Here you must specify the entire domain as domain name, including subdomain and main domain part.

The web space control panel will treat the subdomain the same as a main domain and provide all functions that main domains offer. You can now set up e-mail addresses and mailboxes, too.
